Haven
VIEW THE COURSE
Haven uses a population-level approach to educate students on the issues associated with sexual assault. Customized course pathways for males and females provide a highly relevant and meaningful experience.

Clearly defined terminology. Haven provides students with specific definitions pertaining to sexual assault. The program addresses important distinctions between making decisions when consent is present and when consent is absent or difficult to identify. The program also notes that specific legal definitions may vary from state to state and provides important resources for students who seek additional information.
Current statistical data. The program relies on current statistics from the US Department of Justice to support the messages delivered in the course, helping raise awareness of the prevalence of this issue on college campuses.

Debunking of myths. Haven addresses many of the assumptions and stereotypes associated with sexual assault, rape, stalking, and harassment and refutes these common misperceptions with facts and current statistics.
Real-life scenarios. The course uses video-based "What would you do?" scenarios to model protective behaviors and intervention strategies for students. Additional scenarios help guide students through the process of helping a friend who is a victim of sexual assault.
Campus-specifics links and resources. Haven is customizable, allowing you to include campus-specific links and resources to ensure your students have the localized information they need.
As with AlcoholEdu for College, you can track your students' completion progress right from the Hub, Outside The Classroom's online administrative site.
