College Alc is an evidence-based program designed aimed at reducing college student drinking and preventing alcohol-related harm. The course contains a pre- and post-test, optional pre/post behavioral surveys, and four interactive lessons that are designed to:

  • Debunk myths regarding college alcohol use by educating students on opinions vs. facts and providing normative data.
  • Provide science-based alcohol education to help students understand the effects of alcohol on the mind and body (absorption rates, metabolic process, etc.).College Alc
  • Inform students on the risks associated with alcohol consumption, including alcohol expectancies, drinking and driving, unsafe sex, and violence.
  • Demonstrate harm-reduction strategies to assist students in identifying signs of alcohol poisoning, overdose, and dependency, as well as strategies on how to intervene and get help.

Optional Sanctions Tool

College Alc also offers a workbook specifically developed for students who have alcohol policy violations. The workbook includes writing exercises, self-assessments with normative feedback, and behavior change tools to motivate students to consider changing their drinking habits.
