GreekLifeEdu uses a population-level approach to educate students on the issues associated with alcohol consumption, hazing, and sexual assault. This online program uses a non-opinionated tone to offer students important information in an entertaining format, helping students make safer and healthier decisions.

Surveys and knowledge tests. The course collects data on students' knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors towards alcohol, hazing, and sexual assault three times during the GreekLifeEdu course. All attitude and behavior data is completely confidential.
Science-based content. Course content, developed using the latest research, is presented in four modules. The first three modules are dedicated to alcohol consumption, hazing, and sexual assault; the forth contains a brief review of course content. A 30-day "intersession" between Modules 3 and 4 allows students time to integrate course strategies with their own experiences before completing the final module.

Multi-media format. The course presents content in entertaining formats devised to boost engagement, communicating in ways that make sense to today's millennial students. These formats include videos, discussion boards, vlogs, interactive activities, and more.
Real-life scenarios. The course is designed to motivate behavior change by modeling positive behaviors and building self-efficacy. "What Would You Do" scenarios advise students how to help a friend who has had too much to drink, and provide important safety tips on how to intervene in a situation that may lead to sexual assault. Students also develop a Personal Plan for their chapter that they can share with other members.

Evidence-based prevention strategies. The course incorporates evidence-based prevention strategies, including personalized feedback, expectancy theory, and normative feedback - strategies recommended by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA).
