AlcoholEdu® for College: Student Engagement

While the course serves as the cornerstone of a comprehensive approach, Outside The Classroom offers a wide range of prevention tools and programs to help you provide opportunities for your students consistently throughout the academic year. These student engagement tools and programs come FREE with the purchase of AlcoholEdu for College, Outside The Classroom's Population-Level Prevention® program.

Tools embedded in the course:

  • Students can "opt in" to attend and/or plan alcohol-free events on their campus, as well as participate in social climate and policy initiatives on campus.
  • AlcoholEdu's free custom links and messaging allow you to highlight campus-specific policies and resources. Students can access these resources throughout the academic year via their "My AlcoholEdu" page, a one-stop shop for key course information.
  • Course links students to AlterEdū (http://www.alteredu.net), a new social networking site that connects students with others who seek social and intellectual experiences that aren't defined by alcohol.
Competitions and Award Programs:
  • AlcoholEdu Media Competition - This program invites students to compete in three categories: essay, video documentary, and original art. Click here to learn more.
  • Excellence in Student Leadership Awards - This program recognizes students who have distinguished themselves as leaders in alcohol prevention efforts on their campus or in their Greek organization. For more information,
Tools for the Administrator:
  • Discussion and Case-based Learning Guides are available as a free resource, providing further opportunities to engage your students in conversations about college drinking. AlcoholEdu Facilitation Sessions from CAMPUSPEAK are available for an additional fee.
  • Posters and tabletents that reinforce your messages are available for purchase.
