The 2008-2009 Prevention Excellence Awards
Outstanding AOD Professional Award

The Outstanding AOD Prevention Professional Award will recognize the exceptional performance of a professional staff member, faculty member, or administrator who demonstrates continued commitment to the field of alcohol and other drug prevention in the college, university, or organizational setting. The successful nominee has provided outstanding leadership and made meaningful contributions to the field of prevention through their work on campus, in the community, and potentially with national organizations. The nominee is committed to his or her ongoing professional development and to implementing current and innovative prevention practices at his or her institution or organization. Who is eligible to receive an award?
All AOD professionals who are employed by an institution/organization implementing AlcoholEdu for College, AlcoholEdu for Sanctions, or GreekLifeEdu in the 2008-2009 academic year may be nominated. This includes administrators from colleges and universities as well as Greek organizations.

Who can submit nominations?
Nominations may be submitted by any professional staff member, either from the nominee's institution or from a different institution or organization. The nominator does not need to be an AlcoholEdu/GreekLifeEdu client.

What are the criteria for this award?
All nomination packets must include a cover sheet, two letters of support, and up to a five-page narrative. Please refer to the Evaluation Criteria. For complete details, please register to receive an application.

How will the recipient of this award be selected?
The recipient of this award will be selected by a panel of national prevention experts. The individual who best exemplifies the Evaluation Criteria will be recognized with the 2008-2009 Outstanding AOD Professional Award.

How do I nominate an administrator for an award?
Complete the online registration form by October 15, 2008 to receive a Prevention Excellence Award application.

Can an administrator be nominated for this award if his/her institution is also applying for another Prevention Excellence Award?
Yes. However, a separate application must be completed for each award.

Can I submit my application electronically?
Yes. Completed nomination packets can be emailed to Kimberley Timpf at prevpractice@outsidetheclassroom.com or submitted in hard copy.
