Among the most profound responsibilities of a college or university president is to help create a safe environment in which students can develop their intellectual potential. The recipient of this award will exemplify the highest standards of professional, social, and cultural leadership - one who has given freely of time and energy to create an environment where learning and campus life are not undermined by the misuse of alcohol. Through demonstrated keen vision and innovative leadership, the recipient of this award will have implemented a comprehensive strategy that not only addresses the specific educational needs of individuals but also seeks to bring about change at the institutional, community, and public policy levels.
