BOSTON — July 24, 2001 - Outside The Classroom, Inc., the leading provider of online health education courses for colleges and universities, announced today that Richard P. Keeling, M.D. has been appointed Vice President of Prevention Programs.

We have been fortunate to have Dr. Keeling as a member of our Advisory Board since the company’s inception and could not be more enthusiastic that he has agreed to join us in a deeper capacity,” said Brandon Busteed, Founder and CEO.
Dr. Keeling is the former founder and CEO of Rethinkinc, a company providing health information management solutions to colleges and universities. Prior to starting Rethinkinc, Keeling was in a tenured position as Director of University Health Services and Professor of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is founder and chairman of Richard P. Keeling & Associates (RPK&A), a consulting firm through which he has consulted with over 550 universities, school systems, nonprofit organizations, corporations, and government agencies concerning the critical issues of health among young people.
Dr. Keeling also serves as editor of the Journal of American College Health and is past-president of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality, the American College Health Association, and the Foundation for Health in Higher Education. He has authored numerous books, chapters, and articles concerning health issues. Dr. Keeling received his M.D. from Tufts University.

Dr. Keeling will oversee all content and curriculum issues related to course material and pedagogy for AlcoholEduTM, an online alcohol education course designed specifically for college students. AlcoholEdu is currently in use at institutions nationwide in conjunction with TheHealthSurveyTM, an online assessment tool that provides detailed information about students’ health-related behaviors. Dr. Keeling will also lead the company’s strategy and development efforts as it enters into other markets with new courses, additional surveys and advanced reporting capabilities, and expands services that promote healthy life skills.
