Outside The Classroom and Educational Benchmarking, Inc. Partner to Offer Interactive Reporting on College Drinking

New tools give colleges, universities, and Greek organizations unprecedented ability to analyze students' attitudes and behaviors

BOSTON - December 11, 2006 - Outside The Classroom, the leading provider of online prevention programs, announced today that it has partnered with Educational Benchmarking (EBI), the leader in higher education benchmarking assessment solutions, to offer college, universities, and Greek organizations a Web-based reporting system that will allow them to analyze and communicate their data completely online. EBI's Web-Enabled Survey System (WESS) gives institutions and organizations using Outside The Classroom's AlcoholEdu® for College online prevention program unprecedented access to data and analysis reports on their students' alcohol-related attitudes and behaviors, setting a new standard for prevention programming data analysis.

WESS offers a number of benefits that were previously unavailable to the prevention community:

  • Rapid access to extensive institution-specific results from AlcoholEdu for College
  • The Select 6 - comparisons to a self-selected set of peer or aspiration institutions
  • Additional comparisons to institutions with common Carnegie Classification and Outside The Classroom's national aggregate
  • Interactive cross-tabular reporting and factors analysis
  • Ability to easily create custom presentations with WESS's "drag-and-drop" features
  • Tools to create and share custom reports and selected results analysis with other individuals or groups on campus

"Outside The Classroom is pleased to be able to offer our AlcoholEdu for College clients the opportunity to further assess, evaluate, target, and improve the impact of their Population-Level Prevention approach with Educational Benchmarking's interactive reporting and assessment tools," said Brandon Busteed, Founder and CEO of Outside The Classroom. "EBI is the long-established leader and innovator in the benchmarking assessment field, and our partnership offers one more way in which Outside The Classroom can continuously increase the value and insights we provide to our clients."

Clients currently using AlcoholEdu for College for all first-year students will have the opportunity to preview the interactive reporting feature this fall. Outside The Classroom will roll out full capabilities of this feature in summer 2007 for the 2007-2008 academic year.

"EBI could not be more pleased to apply our expertise in online analysis and reporting, that is currently available with EBI's 50 national benchmarking assessments, with Outside The Classroom's dataset - the country's largest and most comprehensive set of understanding about college drinking," said Joseph Pica, Ed.D, President and CEO of Educational Benchmarking, Inc.
