Outside The Classroom Media Competition

BLOG AND VLOG SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Please read all of the rules and information below before submitting your blog/vlog. Your submission will constitute an agreement to the rules and information on this page.

If you are submitting blog entries:

  • Each of your 5 blog entries should be well-organized, well-reasoned and consist of 300 – 500 words. If possible, try to have the entries span a significant amount of time (2-4 weeks).
  • Blogs must be written in English. 
  • Send your name, school, class year, email address, Greek organization (if applicable), and the URL for your blog in an email to lancaster@outsidetheclassroom.com. *Note, if you don’t want to post your blog online, you can also send us the posts in a Word document.
  • In your email, please cut and copy the following "Release Statement" as well. "I  ___(insert name)___certify that the information provided in this blog is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I understand that, upon submission, this blog becomes the sole property of Outside The Classroom and that the company may use excerpts or the entire blog for public outreach related to the Outside The Classroom Media Competition and/or educational purposes."
  • Entries that have received awards from other competitions are ineligible.
  • All entries must be received by Outside The Classroom by Friday, April 9th, 2010.
  • All entries must be original material. Any and all copyrighted materials will not be considered.

If you are submitting vlog entries:

  • Each of your 3-5 vlog entries should be well-organized, well-reasoned, and consist of 1-3 minutes of recorded video. If possible, try to have the entries span a significant amount of time (2-4 weeks).
  • Vlogs must be recorded in English. 
  • Send your name, school, class year, email address, Greek organization (if applicable), and the URL for your vlog(s) in an email to lancaster@outsidetheclassroom.com. *Note, if you don’t want to post your vlog online, you can also send us a DVD. more info
  • In your email, please cut and copy the following "Release Statement" as well.  "I ___(insert name)___certify that the information provided in this vlog is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I understand that, upon submission, this vlog becomes the sole property of Outside The Classroom and that the company may use excerpts or the entire vlog for public outreach related to the Outside The Classroom Media Competition and/or educational purposes."
  • All vlogs must be received by Outside The Classroom by Friday, April 9th, 2010.

  • If there are other people appearing in your vlog, please download the Participant Release Form. Important Note: Participants must be informed that they are being filmed and they must each sign a Participant Release Form. Please include these forms with your submission.
