The 2011 Prevention Excellence Awards

OUTSTANDING AOD PROFESSIONAL AWARD EVALUATION CRITERIA

Nominees will be evaluated on the degree to which he or she:

  1. Impacts student life through visionary and innovative approaches to alcohol prevention, i.e.:
    1. Develops innovative practices and strategies based on new technologies, the latest research in the field of alcohol prevention, creative concepts, or policy development
    2. Successfully integrates AlcoholEdu and its related programs as part of a comprehensive prevention strategy
    3. Demonstrates evidence of the impact of prevention programs and strategies on an intended audience
    4. Advances the knowledge base of prevention practices on campus or in an organization through assessment and evaluation, benchmarking, and other measurements. (i.e., determining best practices)
  2. Creates and sustains collaborative relationships in order to support prevention efforts across a campus or organization, i.e.:
    1. Maintains professional interpersonal relations
    2. Demonstrates strong public relations skills
    3. Facilitates opportunities for collaboration
    4. Recognizes efforts of other departments/organizations
  3. Receives recognition as a leader in prevention education, practice, and/or research, i.e.:
    1. Currently holds or has held various leadership positions on campus or in the organization
    2. Appointed/elected to national task forces, commissions, councils, committees, etc.
    3. Received awards that connote leadership in prevention
  4. Demonstrates intellectual, professional, personal, and/or career growth as a result of his or her experiences.
