The Outstanding AOD Professional Award will recognize the exceptional performance of a professional staff member, faculty member, or administrator who demonstrates continued commitment to the field of alcohol and other drug prevention in the college, university, or organizational setting. The successful nominee has provided outstanding leadership and made meaningful contributions to the field of prevention through their work on campus, in the community, and potentially with national organizations. The nominee is committed to his or her ongoing professional development and to implementing current and innovative prevention practices at his or her institution or organization. Recipients will be honored with prize money in recognition of their achievements and an invitation to the NASPA Annual Conference.

Who is eligible to receive an award?

All AOD professionals are eligible. This includes administrators from colleges and universities as well as Greek organizations. Read through the list of recipients from previous years.view the list

Who can submit nominations?

Nominations may be submitted by any professional staff member, either from the nominee's institution or from a different institution or organization.

What are the criteria for this award?

All nomination packets must include a cover sheet, two letters of support, and up to a five-page narrative. Please refer to the Evaluation Criteria. For complete details, please register to receive an application.

How will the recipient of this award be selected?

All nominees will undergo a review process by a panel of experienced prevention professionals.  The individual who best exemplifies the Evaluation Criteria will be recognized with the 2011 Outstanding AOD Professional Award.
