Curriculum Team

All of Outside The Classroom's programs are developed by teams of prevention professionals, assessment and evaluation experts, experienced educators, and leading scientists. Led by William DeJong, Ph.D., Executive Director of Research and Analysis, the Curriculum team revises AlcoholEdu® for College each year to include the most up-to-date scientific research and to incorporate student and administrator feedback.

The AlcoholEdu® for College and AlcoholEdu for Sanctions team includes distinguished neuropsychologists and brain researchers Scott Swartzwelder, Ph.D., and Aaron White, Ph.D., of Duke University Medical Center; Richard P. Keeling, MD, CEO of Keeling & Associates; University of Central Florida's Michael Dunn, Ph.D; John Pryor, Associate Director of the Higher Education Research Institute and Director of the Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP) at UCLA's Graduate School of Education and Information Science; and Andrea Dowhower, Director of Student Affairs Research and Assessment at Pennsylvania State University.

GreekLifeEdu™ was developed with significant input from Cari Cook, Executive Director at Delta Delta Delta; Dr. William DeJong, Professor at Boston University School of Public Health, and Director of Program Research and Development at Outside The Classroom; Dr. Thomas Goodale, Principal at The Center Ring; Shannon McNamara, AlcoholEdu Program Administrator at Zeta Tau Alpha; Marilyn Monroe Fordham, NPC Delegate at Delta Gamma; and Wynn Smiley, Chief Executive Officer at Alpha Tau Omega.

MentalHealthEdu™ was developed with significant input from Dr. Richard Ferraro, Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs at Virginia Tech; Dr. Alan Glass, Director of Student Health Services at Washington University in St. Louis; Dr. Richard Kadison, Director of Mental Health Services at Harvard University; Dr. Timothy Marchell, Director of Mental Health Initiatives at Cornell University; and Dr. Michelle Riba, Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan.

Haven, our sexual assault education and prevention program, was developed with significant contributions and expertise from Dr. Richard P. Keeling and Ryan Travia, M.Ed., Director of the Office of Alcohol and Other Drug Services at Harvard University.

AlcoholEdu for Parents was developed with significant contributions and expertise from Dr. Richard P. Keeling and Dr. William DeJong.

AlcoholEdu for High School and AlcoholEdu for High School Parents were developed by Devon Lancaster, Marcie Groller, and Dr. William DeJong, with input from Dr. Scott Swartzwelder.  

AlcoholEdu for Youth Sanctions was developed in conjunction with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
